Technical Analysis

OBSA main projects:

• European Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS)
  Spanish National Authorities and affected Companies support and follow-up: expert legal advice and assistance on aeronautical and environmental regulations, studies on impact of the requirements, system for tracking and approving plans, support for selecting and investing at projects to get CERs or EURs.
• Definition of indicators for assessment and reduction of the environmental impacts of air transport (DIATA)
  Research project financed by CDTI (Spanish Industrial & Technological Development Centre). Its objectives are the collection, selection, implementation, validation and provision for the stakeholders of indicators, tools and modelizations for evaluation, planning and assessment of the environmental impact of air transport. It provides an indicator system and its implementation in a web platform will allow its use by those involved, public or private entities, to reduce their environmental impact in policy design and decision making.
• Local Air Quality and Climate Change
  Use of a Spanish Air Transport Emissions Model to review and monitor the current national inventories and evaluate policies and scenarios.
• Sustainability Annual Report
  It reflects the most relevant actions undertaken by the national sector, and includes analysis of trends towards sustainability through the proposed indicators.
• Fuel Efficiency
  Studies and best practice recommendations.
• LAQ Aviation Action Plans on emission reduction in handling and airport access.
• Working Group "Sustainable Transport" in the Sustainability Observatories Network
  Its main thematic areas of study are energy / energy efficiency, intermodality / territory / connectivity, environmental impact and economic impact (quality of life).
