Definition of Indicators of environmental impact of Air Transport for their reduction (DIATA)
Within the frame of the projects of the Aerospace Sub programme (SAE) grant-aided by the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) was the DIATA project (Definition of indicators of environmental impact of air transport for their reduction).
This project raised itself out of the necessity of having several indicators to allow assessing the environmental impact of air transportation in Spain, as at the time of execution there was not any observatory or themed forum collecting, providing information, and analyzing the aviation sector behaviour from the point of view of sustainability.
Aviation industry must stay active in pursuing and promoting solutions for achieving sector´s sustainability. The DIATA project is part of the answer to diagnose the current situation of the sector through indicators and adequate models.
