EU takes next step in making airlines pay for carbon

EU ETS

To begin the accounting process, the Commission partly activated its registry to centralize carbon allowance accounts currently held under national registries, pending full activation, which will not take place before June. The effect is that aircraft operators can open accounts in the central EU registry and will then become eligible for free allowances.

Indicators: new section of OBSA

DIATA

In this section we present the results of the project Definition of Indicators of environmental impact of Air Transport for their reduction (DIATA). Aviation industry must stay active in pursuing and promoting solutions for achieving sector´s sustainability. The DIATA project is part of the answer to diagnose the current situation of the sector through indicators and adequate models.

Noise: new section of OBSA

Noise

In this section we provide information on non acoustic aspects of aircraft noise. Until recently, researches were focus on the acoustic component of the discomfort (eg sound pressure level, decibels). However, lately - thanks to groups such as ANNA - non-acoustic factors are increasing importance of aviation among experts in noise.
